THREE SISTER'S PROJECT
We are happy to let you know that we provides “Hope and Opportunity” for THREE SISTERS ages 14, 17 and 19, who are living together and working to support themselves. Their father died when they were young and mother left them because she did have son. Now they are surviving without any major support and lived in a temporary shelter shown in the picture below. The Asha project heard about their story and helped them build a house and also to help three sisters to go to school. Your support is greatly appreciated for these three sisters.
A Message from Tara Maharjan, Director of Operations:
While in Nepal, the team realized that the situation is ever changing and from half-way around the world, there is only so much that we can do. While our original goal was to build 1,000 houses, there was a part of us that hoped that we would physically build each of these houses. This is untimely in helping the people who need it most. It is apparent to us that we can do so much more good in providing the help, resources, and guidance in working with Nepali-led organizations already on the ground. This doesn’t mean that we don’t plan on getting our hands dirty and laying as many bricks as we can. But now that we have been to Nepal, assessed the progress, and have made the connections, we can truly start helping the rebuild Nepal.
